The property is ideal for gourmet travellers, featuring a Krups espresso machine, a Kitchenaid blender, a plentiful supply of pots, pans and crockery, a well-stocked spice rack, a good array of condiments, plenty of cookbooks, a large hooded gas barbeque and a dishwasher.

Located across the road from Currarong Creek where it meets Warrain Beach, the house has views of the bay and mountains from the kitchen and lounge room.

In the back yard the property features an enormous outbuilding - originally built in the 1940s as the town bus shed - that has been renovated and converted into an indoor-outdoor living space. The Old Bus Shed is comfortably furnished with 2 double-sized teak daybeds, a 3 metre oak dining table (seating up to 14 people), a piano and other casual furniture. There are large doors at each end of the building, allowing the sea breeze to filter through and making it an ideal place to escape the summer heat.

The doors along the rear wall of the Old Bus Shed onto a large grassed reserve that is perfect for children. Although a public reserve, it is rarely used by others.

The house features 3 bedrooms (2 spacious rooms with queen-sized beds & 1 smaller room with 2 single bunks and built-ins), while the loft in the Old Bus Shed has 1 double bed and 1 single bed. There is one modern bathroom, in the house.

The house is located less than a minute's walk from child-safe swimming at Currarong Creek and Warrain Beach and only 5 minutes' walk from Bosom Beach.

The house has an ecclectic selection of DVDs, CDs and board games that should provide amusement for most kids & adults on a rainy day.

Beaches & recreation

About 2.5 hours from Sydney and 3 hours from Canberra, Currarong is a tiny fishing village of only 400 houses, tucked inside the northern part of the Beecroft Headland, adjacent to Jervis Bay.

With 2 beaches in the village, others accessible by walking tracks on the headland and a number of other stunning swimming spots within a 5-10 minute drive, Currarong offers safe, sheltered swimming in many weather conditions. In all, there are 9 Jervis Bay beaches and 4 Pacific ocean beaches within easy reach.

The Beecroft Headland offers walks of a range of distances and gradients, which provide access to Aboriginal artefacts, a shipwreck, some of the highest cliffs in NSW and several small swimming beaches.

Dolphins are often seen at the beaches around Currarong and during whale migration season, sitings are common.

The unique aspect of Currarong makes in an ideal place for canoeing, kayaking, diving and snorkelling.

If you're into fishing, you have the choice of throwing your line in the creek, off the beach or off the rocks.

Eating and shopping

The general store at the end of the street provides a good range of basics, including some fruit and vegetables and meat. It is in addition a small bottleshop.

Zac's, next to the general store, has fresh seafood from Wednesday to Sunday (and other days during holiday periods). Zac's accepts advance orders (phone ) for fresh seafood and can source virtually anything you may want. Zac's also operates as a restaurant and take-away shop.

There is an IGA supermarket in Callala Bay (10-15 minutes' drive). For bigger supply runs, Nowra is only a 20 minute drive away and offers all the major supermarkets. There is information at the house on other restaurants and fresh food suppliers.
